April 2010
When God speaks, He wastes no time in idle comment. He is dynamic, brief and to the point. He knows without question that He is the sole power of the universe, and He speaks with authority.
When the patriarchs were in any kind of trouble, they didnt waste time in bemoaning their lot, in blame of someone else, in resentment. They turned normally and naturally to God as their father who loved them and would help them. Christ Jesus never had the least thought of turning to anyone but God for help. He knew that they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk and not faint. That is why He constantly admonished all who would listen to do something drastic about developing faith in this wonderful power to be had for the asking.
Do you remember the story about the mountain? Jesus said, Whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass, he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, what things soever ye desire when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. Are you faced with a problem that defies human solving? Are you sunk into despondency and frustration from which there seems no rising? Does nameless, senseless fear keep you awake at night and exhausted by day? Is your belief of helplessness increasing to such an extent that you feel powerless even to seek a remedy?
Why not follow the example of Jesus and the patriarchs? Turn to God right now, this instant, take Him at His word, Fear thou not; for I am with thee; be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness, and then let important three-letter word let the light and strength of Gods power dissolve into nothingness your seemingly insurmountable problem. Relax in the stillness that is God and let Gods power do the work for you.
Easter brings the dawn of renewed hope. Let's begin now to take God at His word.
